We are guided by values of kindness, gratitude, diversity, trust, respect, and accountability.About the ClinicThe Nexus Primary Care Clinic is a Nurse Practitioner-led, interdisciplinary clinic in south Nanaimo comprising of Nurse Practitioners, registered nurses, clinical pharmacy, mental health & substance use counseling, social work, respiratory therapy, and office administrative staff. We provide primary care from infancy through to end of life in partnership with the Ministry of Health, Island Health and Nurses and Nurse Practitioners of BC and is a part of Nanaimo's Primary Care Network.Position SummaryReporting directly to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director provides strategic leadership, financial stewardship, and operational management to ensure consistent delivery of high-quality primary care services. This role leads daily clinic operations, manages resources and vendor relationships, supports staff development, and fosters a supportive work culture.Key Responsibilities (high level)Lead day-to-day operations and implement strategic goals.Prepare and oversee operating and capital budgets; monitor monthly financial performance.Identify and lead funding initiatives (preferential grant-writing experience).Manage vendor & contracted services; steward operational policies and procedures.Hire, coach, and develop an interdisciplinary team; support performance management.Lead quality improvement initiatives and risk management strategies.Oversee digital communications and marketing; lead website revision & planned online booking implementation.Organize and facilitate interdisciplinary meetings; attend monthly Board meetings and present operational report at AGM.Support resolution of staff and patient concerns and champion community relations/media.QualificationsProven leadership experience in the healthcare or adjacent fields.Preferential education: Health Management, Master of Business AdministrationExperience in leading quality improvement initiatives and project managementStrong knowledge of financial management, EHR systems, and applicable health legislation.Experience in labor relations, HR management, and public relations.Experience creating budgets and managing P&L; proficiency with bookkeeping softwarePreferential experience with grant writing.Exemplary written/verbal communication and interpersonal skillsLeadership AttributesWe are looking for a dedicated and engaged leader who fosters collaboration, accountability, proficiency, creative problem solving, professional development, and a passion for community-centered health care delivery.What We OfferSalary range $80,000 – $90,000 per year (commensurate with experience)Supportive of a hybrid work arrangement — some days remote, some on-site.Comprehensive benefits package (health, dental, vision).Continuous learning and professional development opportunities.Performance incentives and bonuses.Job Type: Full-timePay: $80,000.00-$90,000.00 per yearBenefits:Dental careEmployee assistance programExtended health careFlexible scheduleOn-site parkingPaid time offVision careApplication question(s):Do you have a minimum of 3 years experience in a leadership position?Do you have proven leadership experience in health care or related fields?Are you able to work a hybrid schedule with time shared in office and from home?Do you have experience working with a non-profit organization and/or a board of directors?Do you have business operations experience, such as- budget creation, payroll and bookkeeping?Do you have experience in grant writing or accessing funding initiatives?Work Location: In person
