About CASA House
 
CASA House is a live-in program for teens who need support with significant mental health and/or addictions challenges. Teens stay at CASA House for an average of four months. The program involves parents and caregivers as active participants in treatment. Treatment includes individual, group and family therapy, social and life skills training, and on-site schooling in small classroom settings.

Salary/Wage range: $44.03 to $56.50

The Mental Health Therapist will: Work with the CASA team and external supports to provide high-quality, trauma-focused mental health therapies to youth and families.Help caregivers build specialized parenting skills.Formulate diagnoses as appropriate, using the DSM-5-TR and other diagnostic tools.Provide clinical input to Therapy Support Navigators providing case management and wrap-around care for patients and families.Conduct case management functions, including convening case conferences and liaising with CASA therapists and psychiatrists, community services and other professionals involved with the youth and family.Coordinate consultation to other therapists or external partners as appropriate.Provide supervision or preceptorship for student placements.Contribute to staff knowledge and understanding of discipline-specific issues.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
 Excellent assessment and treatment skills.Excellent case management skills. Training and clinical experience working with families and child family services will be an asset. Strong grasp of the principles of evidence-based practice.Knowledge and experience supporting the healing of children and youth who have experienced trauma.Knowledge and experience in the following therapeutic modalities: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Family interventions, Crisis Intervention.Training and experience in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) is considered an asset.Experience supporting the mental health of youth who identify as LGBTQ2S+.Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.Qualifications and Experience Master's degree in psychology, social work (with psycho-social intervention designation) or occupational therapy. Member in good standing with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT), Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW) or College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP).A minimum of two years of clinical practice in child and family mental health and/or youth addictions.Must maintain Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) certification (training provided by CASA) and be physically able to perform all interventions.Knowledge of and experience in supporting the healing of children and youth who have experienced trauma.Knowledge of and experience in bottom-up and top-down modalities is an asset.Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.Conditions of EmploymentA satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search and Child Intervention Check. This would be the financial responsibility of the successful candidate.Ability to pass and maintain Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) certification (training provided by CASA), as well as physical ability to perform all interventions.Working ConditionsValid Class 5 driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.Your Well-Being Matters
