IT Support Technician

As our operations continue to expand, we are seeking a talented and detail-oriented IT Helpdesk Technician to join our growing team at our Barrie, Ontario facility.

About the Role

The IT Helpdesk Technician will play an essential role in supporting our employees' technology needs and ensuring the smooth operation of our IT systems. You will be the first point of contact for technical issues, providing hands-on troubleshooting and assisting with hardware, software, and network support.

This role is ideal for a proactive and resourceful professional who enjoys problem-solving, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is passionate about technology and service excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide first-level technical support to employees via phone, email, and in person.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network-related issues promptly and efficiently.
• Install, configure, and maintain workstations, printers, and peripheral devices.
• Assist with user account setup, password management, and access permissions in Microsoft 365 and other enterprise applications.
• Document all helpdesk activities, resolutions, and system configurations accurately.
• Support IT infrastructure projects, including hardware upgrades, system rollouts, and network improvements.
• Maintain asset inventory, ensuring proper tracking and documentation of all IT equipment.
• Collaborate with senior IT staff to ensure the security, stability, and efficiency of company systems.
• Provide end-user training and support to promote effective use of technology across departments.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
• 1–3 years of experience in IT support, helpdesk, or desktop support role.
• Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems, Microsoft 365, and basic networking principles.
• Experience with Active Directory, VoIP systems, and ERP software considered an asset.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to issue resolution.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities with a customer-focused mindset.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
