Position Overview

We are currently looking for a Junior Estimator to join our Bid Center team. This role supports the preparation of estimates and proposals for medium to large-scale commercial security and telecom projects. You'll work closely with our Technical Team Leaders and other stakeholders to develop accurate, standardized, and competitive bids.

This position occasionally involves attending site walks to better understand project requirements and scopes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing detailed cost estimates for structured cabling, security, and network infrastructure projects.
  • Review and interpret project drawings, specifications, and scope documents.
  • Perform material takeoffs and compile supplier pricing for cables, equipment, and installation materials.
  • Support the creation and maintenance of project documentation — including pre-bid and post-project files, as-built documentation, and client deliverables.
  • Collaborate with sales, project management, and field teams to ensure project accuracy and consistency from bid to completion.
  • Help prepare bid proposals, change orders, and supporting documentation.
  • Track bid results and maintain estimating databases and cost records.
  • Participate in site visits or walkthroughs as required to assess project requirements.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Engineering Technology, Construction Estimating, Telecommunications, or related field.
  • 1–2 years of experience in a construction, electrical, or low-voltage estimating role.
  • Strong understanding or interest in network cabling, fiber optics, access control, IP camera systems, and alarm panels.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with Bluebeam.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and technical documentation.
  • Effective communicator with a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.

Pay: $22.00-$28.00 per hour
