Position Overview
The Junior Estimator will assist in preparing accurate cost estimates for plumbing and HVAC projects, ensuring all materials, labor, and time requirements are accounted for. This role is ideal for someone with estimating experience who is eager to grow within a reputable mechanical contracting company.
Key Responsibilities
- Review drawings, specifications, and project documents to prepare detailed estimates.
- Perform quantity takeoffs for plumbing and HVAC systems.
- Solicit and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotes.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field teams to ensure accurate pricing.
- Assist with bid preparation, cost analysis, and proposal documentation.
- Maintain organized records of estimates, revisions, and project data.
Qualifications
- Minimum 1–3 years of experience in estimating within the plumbing or HVAC industry.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, materials, and installation methods.
- Proficiency with estimating software (e.g., Trimble, Bluebeam, Excel, or similar).
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Excellent attention to detail, time management, and communication skills.
