Disability Specialist (Head Office, Edmonton)

Go Auto Corporate is adding a Disability Specialist to our Payroll and Benefits team.

This role offers the chance to help shape how we support our people. You'll have the opportunity to build and refine processes, educate teams across the company on best practices, and truly make the position your own. Hybrid work options are available for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of employee disability and leave programs, including short-term disability (STD), long-term disability (LTD), and WCB claims.
  • Act as the main contact for employees, managers, insurers, and payroll to ensure accurate pay, clear communication, and a smooth claims process.
  • Support and educate employees and leaders on disability benefits, return-to-work programs, accommodations, and leave procedures.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential claim records while ensuring compliance with policies and timelines.
  • Collaborate with insurance providers to verify claim details and promptly submit required documentation.
  • Analyze disability data and recommend process improvements to enhance program effectiveness.
  • Assist with process documentation and other related administrative duties as needed.

What You'll Bring:

  • Strong knowledge of disability management practices, including STD, LTD, and WCB processes.
  • 3+ years experience in a disability specialist role.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage employees, managers, and insurance carriers.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
  • High level of accuracy in documentation and data management.
  • Strong problem-solving skills related to leave and disability management.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment and foster collaboration across departments.
  • Commitment to maintaining the confidentiality and privacy of employee information.
  • Experience with HRIS systems (UKG, Workday and ADP).
