Candidate must have a vehicle, have experience in all aspects of personal care, and program planning.

This is a temporary, full-time position from November 14 to December 30, 2025, located near 50th street East of Bonnie Doon mall in the neighborhood of Kenilworth, with a schedule of Monday to Friday from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM supporting an adult participant. As a Community Specialist I (CSI) you would be an ally and ambassador, you will work front-line and are pivotal to the creation of a safe, caring and community-enriched life for the individuals/families who hire us. Thoughtful program planning and implementation supports participants to connect with their communities - establishing real relationships and creating meaningful days and lives. The conscientious CS will act with integrity, be open to growth, live our purpose, cultivate teamwork, and put forth an extraordinary effort to empower people with diverse abilities and their families to grow, succeed, and belong. 

1. Provide direct care and purposeful support in an engaging, fun and safe environment
2. Foster genuine relationships promoting dignity, personal interests and identities

4. Communicate effectively with their team members, which includes individuals, families, and co-workers

6. Model socially appropriate behaviors and assist/ encourage participants to make and maintain appropriate community connections
7. Support participants in all aspects of personal hygiene and personal care as required. 
8. Maintain timely, accurate and professional documents in accordance with AdaptAbilities policies and procedures
9. Understand and comply with all emergency processes and risk management 
10. Perform other job-related activities as required

1. Minimum education requirement of a High School Diploma and little or no work-related experience. May consider equivalent combination of education and experience.
2. Alignment with AdaptAbilities core purpose and core values
3. Experience in all aspects of personal care, and program planning is required
4. Clear Police Information Check and Intervention Record Check are required
5. Intermediate First Aid Certification CPR Level C and AED is required upon hire
6. Non-Violent Crisis Intervention, Abuse Prevention and Response Protocol are an asset 
7. Clean class 5 driver's license and a vehicle is required

Compensation $21.42 to $22.50/ hour depending on experience and education
