This role is central to advancing CAPREIT's mission of becoming the best place to live, work, and invest by transforming data into actionable insights for operational excellence and strategic decision‑making.
The Manager will partner closely with Operations, Finance, Marketing, and other corporate functions to design and deliver business‑relevant dashboards, performance metrics, and analytical solutions. This role also oversees the development and maintenance of CAPREIT's enterprise data environment—including Microsoft Fabric/Power BI, Azure data services, SAP BPC, and related platforms.
Success in this role requires strong business acumen, deep technical expertise, and the ability to translate complex data into clear, compelling insights for senior leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Business Partnership & Decision Support

- Develop and maintain operational and executive dashboards, KPIs, and reporting frameworks that support day‑to‑day management and long‑term strategic planning
- Lead and prioritize ad‑hoc analysis requests from senior leadership, including the CFO and executive team, supporting quarterly/annual reporting cycles and investor communications
Analytics Delivery & Project Leadership
- Drive the full analytics lifecycle—from problem definition and ideation through development, deployment, as well as ongoing sustainment
- Manage cross‑functional initiatives using productivity tools such as Azure DevOps, including backlog prioritization, sprint planning, and stakeholder alignment
- Ensure analytics solutions are scalable, well‑documented, and aligned with enterprise data governance standards
Data Architecture & Engineering
- Design, enhance, and govern processes for data acquisition, validation, organization, and storage to ensure a reliable single-source-of-truth
- Contribute to the development and evolution of CAPREIT's data warehousing and ETL/ELT ecosystem using Azure, Fabric, and related technologies
- Accountable for the implementation and optimization of BI and analytics tools across the organization
Team Leadership & Development
- Mentor and develop a team of analysts as well as foster technical growth, business understanding, and analytical excellence throughout the department
- Build future subject‑matter experts by promoting continuous learning, best practices, and a culture of data‑driven decision‑making
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience delivering advanced analytics, BI solutions, and/or automation in a corporate environment
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing or mentoring high‑performing analytics or BI teams
- Strong understanding of financial and real estate operational data/KPIs
- Proven ability to translate business problems into structured analytics programs and lead them through execution
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, including experience working with C‑Suite executives
- Solid knowledge of data architecture, data engineering concepts, and modern data platforms (ETL/ELT, data warehousing, cloud services)
- Hands‑on experience with Azure SQL, Azure Data Factory, Microsoft Fabric, and Power BI.
- Proficiency with analytics and data science tools such as Python, Spark, and advanced Excel.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Economics, Finance, Engineering, or another quantitative discipline
Preferred
- Professional certifications in analytics or cloud platforms (e.g., PL‑300 Power BI Data Analyst, DP‑600 Fabric Analytics Engineer)
- Experience working in a highly cross‑functional environment with competing priorities and tight deadlines
- Experience in Real Estate/REITs or investment‑related industries is highly preferred
