Engine Field Service Technician

DESCRIPTION

Cummins is looking for a safety focused certified diesel mechanic to complete its team at Greenstone Gold Mines based in Geraldton, Ontario.

• This is a fly-in fly-out opportunity
• Camp and travel are provided.
• Cummins offers a 5000$ sign on bonus for this role.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways :

• Engage customers in a courteous and professional manner.
• Anticipate and ensures prompt and efficient attention to customer needs
• Apply the use of specialized tools and follows documented procedures and policies to diagnose and complete less complex repairs, including identifying and preparing required parts and tools
• Coach on preventative maintenance activities and basic repairs completed by customer employees
• Escalate unresolved issues to more experienced On-Site Technicians and/or Supervisor
• Complete required documentation, such as service worksheets, timesheets, warranty claims, quality documents via handwritten forms or business system input screens.
• Ensure adherence to all relevant Health Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation and reports any issues / incidents to site management and to their supervisor.

RESPONSIBILITIES

In order to be successful in this role you will need the following:

Education, Licenses, Certifications:

• Heavy duty mechanics journeyman certification is mandatory for this position.
• Valid driver's license and clean driver's abstract are mandatory for this position.

Experience:

• Basic level field service work experience
• Intermediate level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products.
• Experience working on aftertreatment systems.
• Customer service experience
• Open pit mining experience
• Able to work with little to no-supervision

About the role:

• Position is based out of Geraldton, Ontario, camp based
• Shift cycle is 14x14 rotation days and nights
• 12-hour shifts
• Work will be predominantly on Komatsu shovels, including electric shovels, drills and other equipment.
• Position is safety sensitive.
• Random alcohol and drug testing to be expected on work site.
• Salary is 52.00$ hourly plus premiums
• Cummins offers benefits day 1 (dental, vision, pension plan,etc.)
• Cummins offers a 5000$ sign on bonus for this role.
• This position is a backfill.

**Please note that the first week of work (Onboarding) will be held in Fort McMurray for the successful candidate.
