Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Barista to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a love for coffee and exceptional customer service skills. As a Barista, you will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality beverages, maintaining cleanliness in the workspace, and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere for our customers. Your role will be pivotal in creating memorable experiences for our patrons.

Duties

  • Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, teas, and food items according to established recipes and standards.
  • Operate the cash register and handle cash transactions accurately, ensuring proper cash handling procedures are followed.
  • Utilize POS systems, including Micros POS, to process orders efficiently and manage inventory.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the work area, including equipment, utensils, and seating areas to adhere to food safety standards.
  • Provide excellent customer service by engaging with customers, taking orders, and addressing any inquiries or concerns.
  • Assist in food preparation and serving as needed, ensuring all items meet quality standards.
  • Demonstrate strong time management skills by prioritizing tasks during busy periods while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Follow all health and safety regulations related to food handling and preparation.

Experience

  • Previous experience as a Barista or in the food service industry is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Familiarity with POS systems is advantageous
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members.
  • Basic math skills for cash handling and order processing are essential.
  • Knowledge of food safety practices and food handling regulations is beneficial.

  • Smart Choices and Food Safety Certificates will be required within 3 months of hire.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week
