Job responsibilities:
- Wire electrical panels and subassemblies to be installed into automation machines
- Mount electrical components, wireway, cable tray and mechanical components associated with electrical devices
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical and control circuits
- Assemble automation & robotic systems in accordance with assembly and detail drawings and supporting documents
- Read engineering drawings
- Field Service & Machine Installations – as applicable
- Familiar with mechanical, fluid, and pneumatic systems
- Work in a team environment with the guidance of the Electrical Build Leader and Production Supervisor
- Maintain direct communication with Electrical and Mechanical Assembly Supervisors
Knowledge, skills and abilities
- Personal tools required
- Must be able to read an electrical schematic
- Must possess the knowledge and ability to modify components to ensure proper fit, tension, clearances, and overall working limits of the machinery or equipment
- Must have a good working knowledge in electrical/mechanical assembly techniques and be proficient in working with hydraulic and pneumatic components
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, components, and codes.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and blueprints.
- Experience with PLC programming and HMI interfaces.
- Must be capable of working with engineering documentation
- Critical thinking/problem solving
- Commitment to being a team player with flexible, positive, adaptive approach to resolving problems, schedules and changes
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment
- 3 - 5 years' experience in machine building industry
- Uphold SPM standards as prescribed
Requirements
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent
- Completion of a recognized electrical apprenticeship program.
- Valid journeyman electrician license.
