CWB Certified All-Position Welder

Armstrong Sand and Gravel is looking for a full-time, CWB all-position welder with 3-5 years experience. Salary will be based on relevant experience and ability to travel for work. Please submit a resume for review, we are looking for a fast start.

Responsibilities:

· Fabricate, repair, and maintain steel components on drilling equipment, blasting support equipment, loaders, crushers, conveyors, and service trucks.

· Perform structural welding (all positions) on buckets, booms, frames, guards, walkways, platforms, and other heavy-equipment components.

· Repair wear points on drill masts, feed rails, support stands, and blast pattern tools.

· Conduct preventive maintenance on welded assets to minimize equipment downtime.

· Complete cutting, gouging, grinding, and fitting for fabrication and repairs.

· Identify equipment failures and recommend corrective actions to supervisors or maintenance leads.

· Interpret blueprints, schematics, and weld symbols to fabricate or repair parts accurately.

· Operate welding equipment safely, including SMAW, FCAW, MIG, oxy-acetylene, and plasma cutting tools.

· Follow mine site safety procedures, including lockout/tagout, hot work permitting, and confined space rules where applicable.

· Work with mechanics and drillers to troubleshoot equipment failures affecting drilling or blasting timelines.

· Perform field welding repairs in variable weather, dusty conditions, and uneven terrain.

· Inspect welds to ensure compliance with structural and safety requirements.

· Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts used, and time spent on tasks.

· Assist with fabrication of custom brackets, guards, blast mats, or operational fixtures as needed.

· Operate service vehicles or equipment when required to support maintenance tasks.

· Communicate hazards and participate in daily safety meetings and JHAs.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $35.00-$42.00 per hour
