Position Overview:
As the Manager, Business Application Management role, you will be a key member of the Legal Technology Enablement team in Toronto and lead a team of talented and dedicated professionals.
You will be at the forefront of managing TD Legal's technology stack from the legal business and operational standpoint. You will be supporting Legal's Data and Technology roadmap, develop and implement configurations to assist in the delivery of efficient and scalable solutions across TD Legal.
This includes participating in the strategic planning and ongoing operational management of the TD Legal Technology Stack. Partnering with the TD technology team to lead and co-ordinate upgrades/system updates and managing the team that supports these platforms.
This is a business centric role. This role is not advisory — you will be accountable for ensuring that our application and data platform we use every day is stable, efficient and trusted.
Key Accountabilities
- Direct accountability for leading and managing Business Operations Practices to support delivery of BAU processes for 3 or more applications
- Owns the deployment and change management for initiatives / projects spanning across all project tiers
- Responsible for providing support to projects in developing operating practices to support delivery and integration of Technology projects into Operational Processes
- Accountable for documentation management for Business Operations and Project artifacts (i.e. Operations Manuals, BRD, SRS, Test Plans, etc)
- Ensure adherence to guidelines and regulatory requirements under Privacy, Legal, Compliance, and the Office of the Chief Data Officer
- Establish effective relationships across multiple business and technology partners, program, project managers
- Ensure the team maintains compliance and procedure guidelines to support satisfactory audit results
- Grow team expertise to align with business/enterprise demand and direction; assess team skills and capabilities and continually look for ways to provide and enhance the value delivered
- Lead a high performing team; provide on-going feedback and performance reviews, coach and develop employees and ensure performance management activities are undertaken and completed for all employees
- Lead and manage a sizeable team of professionals and overall operation of a diverse group in an area of moderate risk, complexity or scope, while growing talent, developing skills and capabilities to achieve career goals, support project / initiative success and achieve business results
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in data management, Information Technology (IT) Management, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 5-7+ years' experience in supporting business applications, business and user data management within North American financial services setting.
- Ability to navigate and translate complex application and/or data issues into business terms
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex data concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience in project management, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with North American legal or regulatory environments is an asset but not required.
- People Management Experience is an asset.
