What You'll Be Doing

As a member of our Business Banking team reporting to the VP, Products Solutions and Channels, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our Business Banking platforms. You'll be responsible for defining, building, and executing a multi-year strategy that supports both digital and traditional channels, ensuring our products and services remain at the forefront of the financial industry. As a Senior Director, you'll work closely with executive leadership and cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions that enhance client experience, streamline operations, and drive business growth. Your leadership will be vital in building and managing high-performing teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, and ensuring the successful delivery and continuous improvement of business banking applications. You'll act as a strategic advisor, champion change, and ensure that our platforms are secure, scalable, and aligned with evolving client and market needs.

You'll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you'll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote. How You'll Succeed

  • Strategic Leadership & Planning - Define and deliver the Business Banking platforms strategy, including capability planning, funding, and execution. Translate high-level vision into actionable business requirements and oversee successful implementation. Develop and manage annual planning and budgeting for product initiatives, prepare business cases, and ensure alignment with business goals and market changes.

  • Team & Stakeholder Management - Lead cross-functional teams, mentor product owners and business analysts, and cultivate partnerships with Technology, Digital, Product, and other stakeholders across the organization.

  • Platform Oversight - Manage intake, backlog, enhancements, and releases for BB applications, ensuring operational efficiency, security, and continuous improvement through monitoring, triaging, incident management, and user support

  • Governance & Compliance - Maintain robust governance structures and decision-making processes, ensuring compliance with all CIBC policies, standards, and controls for both self and team.

  • Continuous Improvement - Oversee post-deployment adoption, usage, and support of platforms, driving business case outcomes and tracking performance against projections.

  • Project Delivery - Guide and lead complex projects and initiatives from conception through execution, leveraging both Agile and Waterfall methodologies, and collaborating with Project Management resources and technology leaders.

Who You Are

  • You can demonstrate experience in managing complex projects and programs, including intake management, backlog prioritization, and execution from concept to delivery with experience in both Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies. You are fully competent with CIBC's Enterprise Delivery Framework. You are skilled in developing multi-year strategic plans, business cases, and budgets, and translating vision into actionable outcomes. Extensive financial industry knowledge with experience in Business Banking or Commercial Banking.

Strong presentation and facilitation skills, with the ability to communicate complex concepts to executive audiences and influence stakeholders at all levels.

  • You give meaning to data. You have Advanced abilities in data analytics, financial modeling (Excel), and reporting to drive informed business decisions. High capacity for managing competing priorities, solving complex problems, and adapting to a fast-paced, evolving environment with strong decision making skills.

  • You are digitally savvy. You possess strong knowledge of digital technologies, including browser-based and mobile applications, wearables, and client-server platforms.
