Markham, Ontario, Canada The Mason Group - Strategic Search Partners Full time

Our client, a home and commercial services solutions focusing on home comfort equipment such as furnaces, air conditioners, hat pumps and water heaters is looking for a Senior Accountant to join them on a 3-month contract to start. The role is working 3-4 days onsite at their offices in Markham.

This individual will act as the primary point of contact for the audit team and will be responsible for managing and coordinating additional audit requests. The role requires extensive experience in general accounting and audit support, with a strong focus on communication and collaboration across various departments to pull necessary documentation for testing.

Additional responsibilities is as follows:

  • Lead and manage the execution of the audit process for expanded scope areas, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
  • Act as the primary liaison between the audit team and internal business units, facilitating access to relevant documents and data.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather financial data and documents required for testing.
  • Provide guidance and support on audit inquiries, ensuring clear communication and understanding across all stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in general accounting, with a strong understanding of financial processes.
  • Proven experience in auditing or supporting audit activities.
  • Proficiency in Balance Sheet reconciliations and related financial reporting.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with senior management and diverse business units.
  • Experience with SAP or GIRS (preferred but not mandatory).
