As part of a key functional service group, you are responsible for supporting and maintaining the services of the factory and its equipment. You are punctual, able to work any shift required, reliable and have a good understanding of the factory operation. You support the work group activities to achieve the established factory goals.

MAJOR DUTIES

  1. Perform preventative maintenance as required.

  2. Rebuild equipment and parts as needed.

  3. Running repairs as needed.

  4. Maintain maintenance library.

  5. Perform shop sanitation as required.

  6. Ensure work area is clean in accordance with GMP's.

  7. Abides to quality check guidelines.

  8. Complies with Safety, Health and Environmental policies and procedures.

  9. Other duties as assigned

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

  1. In-depth knowledge of food processing equipment maintenance and technology

  2. Must have a valid Ontario Millwright License

  3. Knowledge of food safety, regulatory requirements for food safety and hygienic engineering (OSH&R).

  4. Understanding of financial analysis, budget reports and relevant business drivers

  5. Knowledge of Consequence Driven Maintenance (CDM) and Asset & Maintenance

Management

  1. College or technical degree as a licensed Millwright Mechanic

  2. 3 years experience in a technical field, preferable in a food manufacturing or consumer goods industry

  3. Intermediate level computer skills, including MS Office

WORKING CONDITIONS

  1. Physical Effort

Some heavy physical activities (lifting and reaching), walk/stand frequently, push/pull.

Shift work (rotating 3 shifts with overtime as required). Call ins as required.

  1. Physical Environment

Exposure to noise decibels) with PPE

Exposure to moving mechanical components, various energies, wet and slippery conditions, and varying temperatures.

Some exposure to ammonia vapour and chemicals.

  1. Sensory - A high level of sensory attention is required.

  2. Mental Stress - A moderate to high level of job stress may occur.
