McInnes Cooper is currently seeking an experienced Litigation Lawyer to join our thriving team in Saint John, New Brunswick, where you will have the opportunity to engage in a broad range of complex litigation matters. Our litigation team provides highly diversified services to clients across various industries, regularly appearing in courts at all levels in the Atlantic Provinces, as well as in the Federal Court and the Supreme Court of Canada. Additionally, the team frequently represents clients in administrative and regulatory tribunals, arbitrations, and mediations.
As a Litigation Associate, your key responsibilities will include:
Managing your own files while collaborating with colleagues on complex legal matters.
Providing legal services across a wide array of areas, such as general/civil litigation, commercial litigation, estate litigation, insurance defense, and construction/engineering litigation.
Conducting legal research, providing legal opinions, and maintaining up-to-date knowledge on relevant legal developments.
Communicating effectively with clients, colleagues, and opposing counsel to ensure successful outcomes.
Representing clients in court, at hearings, and in negotiations.
The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:
A minimum of 4 to 7 years of litigation experience in one or more of the following areas: general/civil litigation, commercial litigation, estate litigation, insurance defense, and construction/engineering litigation.
Strong analytical, organizational and leadership skills.
Exceptional client-focused approach with effective interpersonal and communication abilities.
Ability to leverage technological skills and established procedures and processes.
Proven ability to manage time efficiently and handle multiple files.
A strong drive to succeed in a fast-paced and client-focused environment.
