Council Opportunities

Council employs people across a range of fields. This standing Expression of Interest is open year round for people who would like to be considered for casual, temporary, fixed term, or short term contract work as operational needs arise.

  3. Plant operators, for example graders, backhoe, forklift, bobcat
  4. Truck drivers, for example HR, HC, MC
  5. Water and wastewater workers
  6. Waste and resource recovery staff
  7. Parks and gardens, labouring and maintenance
  8. Administration and customer service
  9. Finance staff, for example payroll, creditors, debtors, general finance support
  10. Town planners and building services staff
  11. Human resources, procurement, and information technology
  12. Other specialist roles, depending on operational needs

  2. A 9 day fortnight for outdoor staff, or a flex time arrangement for indoor staff
  3. Salary sacrificing options
  4. Annual leave arrangements, generally 4 weeks for outdoor staff and 5 weeks for indoor staff

  4. If an opportunity matches your skills, Council may contact you to discuss availability, location, and role requirements.
  5. Submitting an EOI does not guarantee an offer of employment.
Pre employment checks

Depending on the role, you may be required to undertake or provide:

  3. Licence and ticket evidence relevant to the duties
  4. Pre employment medical assessment (where relevant to the inherent requirements of the role)
  5. National Police Check, and Working With Children Check where required
  6. Reference checks
