About Our Opportunity:

Northern RNA is currently seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Payroll/Accounts Payable Clerk (Part-Time) to join our Finance team.

This position plays a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of payroll processing and accounts payable functions. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining employee payroll records, processing bi-weekly payroll, verifying and reconciling invoices, preparing payments, and assisting with month-end financial reporting.

In addition to these core responsibilities, the Clerk will support finance-related administrative tasks and help ensure compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of payroll systems, accounts payable processes, and general accounting principles, along with excellent attention to detail, time management skills, and a collaborative attitude.

Key Responsibilities

· Perform day-to-day financial transactions, including receiving processing, and verifying invoices related to accounts payables

· Reconcile the accounts payable ledger to ensure that all bills and payments are accounted for and properly posted.

· Reconciling invoices to the purchase orders

· Overseeing the payables aging, building strong working relationship with suppliers

· Process full cycle payroll for 50 plus employees

· Understands compliance issues around accounts payable processes

· Verifying employees' work hours and payment through the payroll system, issuing deductions, earnings, and other statements to employees, and updating payroll records regularly

· Supports the accounting close and oversees reconciliation of payroll- and accounts payable-related accounts.

· Perform miscellaneous tasks and additional responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.

May perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Education and knowledge of basic accounting
  • One or more years' experience in Accounts Payable and Payroll
  • Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable principles
  • Excellent verbal and written communication in English
  • Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Experience with Dynamics 365 Business Central or similar programs such as QuickBooks, or Simply Accounting
  • Exposure to HRIS & Time Management systems
  • Detail oriented and organized
  • Must have strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy with the ability to work independently
