The Dick Irwin Group has an opening for an Automotive Service Technician - Apprentice

About the Role:

As an Apprentice Technician, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform vehicle maintenance services, diagnosis and repairs as assigned in accordance with dealer and factory standards This is full-time opportunity with payment determined on your experience and apprenticeship level.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Road testing all vehicles before and after servicing.
  • Assist in the diagnosis and repair of vehicles, as well as checking and verifying parts before installation.
  • Conducting multi-point inspections to make appropriate recommendations to ensure safety and reliability of Customers vehicles.
  • Keeping up to date with factory technical bulletins and participating in factory online and classroom factory training classes.
  • Providing an exceptional customer experience to drive loyalty.
  • Learn how to use specialized tools and equipment
  • Maintain the general cleanliness of the shop
  • Additional duties as required.

We're looking for an individual with:

  • 1st or 2nd year Apprentice
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent organization skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A desire to exceed customer expectations
  • Valid Class 5 drivers' license with an acceptable driving record
  • Ability to drive standard transmission vehicles
  • Post-Secondary education such as a trades certificate or diploma is an asset
  • Previous shop/mechanic experience is an asset
