**Job Title**: Automotive Apprentice

**Reports To**: Service Manager / Shop Foreman
**Location: Port Hardy GM**

**Position Summary**:
The Automotive Apprentice assists licensed Technicians in the diagnosis, maintenance, and repair of vehicles. This position is ideal for someone who is eager to learn, has a passion for the automotive industry, and is working toward obtaining their Red Seal certification. The apprentice will receive hands-on training in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Assist technicians in performing vehicle maintenance and repairs, including oil changes, brake service, tire rotations, and other mechanical work.
- Conduct basic inspections and record findings accurately.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Use proper tools and equipment while following safety and dealership procedures.
- Support the service team in ensuring customer vehicles are repaired efficiently and correctly.
- Participate in ongoing training, both on-the-job and through apprenticeship schooling.
- Communicate clearly with team members and supervisors regarding work performed and any additional repairs needed.
- Follow all manufacturer guidelines and dealership policies.

**Qualifications & Requirements**:

- Registered or eligible to register as an Automotive Service Technician Apprentice.
- Basic mechanical knowledge and a strong interest in automotive repair.
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment and follow instructions.
- Willingness to learn and grow within the trade.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks.
