Job Summary

Shaw McLellan is a respected and growing law firm, seeking a talented and motivated Solicitor (1 – 3 year post call experience) to join our team. In this role, you will provide thoughtful, practical, and client-focused legal advice across a range of matters. You will work with clients of varying legal knowledge, translating complex legal concepts into clear guidance that supports informed decision-making.

This role offers meaningful client exposure, hands on file experience and the opportunity to work across various files dealing with wills & estates, real estate and corporate. This role is well suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, values excellence, and is excited by new challenges and opportunities for innovation and professional growth.

What you will do:

  • Provide clear, strategic legal advice to clients on a variety of legal matters, ensuring they understand their rights, obligations, and options.
  • Prepare, draft, and review legal documents including contracts, wills, estate planning documents, corporate minute books, shareholder agreements, and other transactional materials.
  • Represent and advocate for clients during negotiations related to business, real estate, and other legal matters with professionalism and confidence.
  • Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis to support accurate, current, and well-reasoned advice.
  • Manage files end to end, ensuring deadlines are met and matters are handled efficiently and professionally, with appropriate support from senior lawyers and administrative staff.
  • Maintain compliance with Law Society of Ontario (LSO) regulations and firm operational standards.
