  • Experienced in the fishing and guiding industry (mandatory requirement)

  • Highly motivated, with a strong work ethic and determination to succeed

  • Eager to grow, advance, and provide input into top-level operational decisions

  • Resilient, with exceptional stamina and a willingness to learn continuously

Essential Skills

Leadership & Team Management

  • Ability to recruit, train, and mentor fishing guides and support staff

  • Strong scheduling and organizational skills to manage daily operations

  • Conflict resolution and team motivation skills

Fishing & Guiding Expertise

  • Knowledge of local waters, fish species, and seasonal patterns

  • Experience in angling techniques (fly fishing, trolling, casting, etc.)

  • Safety-first mindset, including boating regulations and general safety of surroundings

Guest Relations & Communication

  • Excellent interpersonal skills to engage with diverse clientele

  • Strong public relations abilities to represent the lodge professionally

  • Clear oral and written communication for guest and office interactions

Operational & Administrative Skills

  • Competence in computer systems for scheduling, reporting, and communication

  • Budget awareness and ability to align guiding operations with financial goals

  • Inventory management for gear, boats, and supplies

Problem-Solving & Adaptability

  • Quick decision-making in outdoor environments

  • Flexibility to adjust plans based on weather, guest needs, or operational challenges

  • Resilience and stamina for long, demanding days in the field
