Position Overview

As a Server at Amato Trattoria, you are at the heart of the guest experience. You bring warmth, attentiveness, and knowledge to every table, ensuring each guest feels cared for from arrival to farewell. You'll combine professionalism and genuine hospitality to deliver seamless, memorable dining experiences that reflect Amato's Italian spirit and dedication to excellence. This role requires strong communication skills, an ability to anticipate guest needs, and the confidence to work collaboratively with management, the kitchen, and bar teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional hospitality greet guests warmly, take orders accurately, and ensure every detail is attended to.

  • Provide detailed menu knowledge, confidently describing ingredients, allergens, and preparation methods.

  • Coordinate effectively with the kitchen, bar, and host teams to maintain flow and timing of service.

  • Maintain table standards by keeping dining areas clean, organized, and ready for the next guest.

  • Monitor guest experience, ensuring satisfaction throughout the meal and addressing any issues promptly.

  • Handle payments accurately and follow all cash control procedures.

  • Comply with liquor service laws and verify identification when required.

  • Upsell and recommend pairings to enhance the guest experience and drive sales.

  • Work collaboratively with fellow employees and management to uphold service consistency and restaurant standards.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1–2 years of serving experience in a high-volume or upscale casual setting.

  • Serving It Right certification (required).

  • Strong knowledge of food, wine, and beverage pairings (Italian cuisine knowledge an asset).

  • Excellent communication and multitasking skills.

  • Team-oriented mindset with a positive attitude and professional demeanor.

  • Ability to stand for extended periods and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
