Dog Day Care Attendant Job Summary;

The Daycare Attendant's role is to help manage safe and controlled playgroups and to oversee the total care of all the dogs in the facility on any given day. This position is critical as you will help to maintain the high standard and quality of individualized care our clients have come to expect. Paying attention to the details, communication and teamwork are the top priorities of this job and there are high expectations that you are following company protocol at all times in order to be an excellent example for all team members.

Dog Day Care Attendant Duties and Responsibilities

  • Feed, walk and provide basic care for animals
  • Monitor dog behavior and intervene when necessary to maintain a safe environment
  • Handle a la carte grooming tasks, if requested
  • Cleaning duties – keep pen area clean of messes at all times, daily cleaning procedures
  • Maintain control of large group of dogs in open play
  • Perform light receptionist duties, such as answering phones and emails
  • Maintain safety protocols while working with animals
  • Assist with the organization and implementation of special events and activities
  • Must be able to follow directions and comply with processes and procedures for best practices in animal care, health and safety

Dog Day Care Attendant Requirements and Qualifications

  • Must LOVE dogs
  • At least 18 years old
  • Reliable and responsible, you are caring for live animals after all
  • Prior experience at a dog daycare facility, shelter, or in personal animal care - ideal
  • Must be comfortable handling all breeds and temperaments of dogs
  • Passion for taking care of animals
  • Excellent communication and observance skills
  • Position requires standing and walking throughout shift
  • Physically able to lift up to 50 pounds and be physically fit
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team

This is a part time/casual position with limited hours. Our hours of operation are Monday-Friday 6:30am - 6:30pm. The hours will fall within these times.
