Lead Estimator
in the
Oil and Gas industry

Calgary, Alberta.

Are you a seasoned estimator with a passion for precision and leadership? Join a dynamic project services team where you'll lead the development of multidiscipline estimates for major oil & gas construction and fabrication projects. This role offers autonomy, stakeholder engagement, and the chance to mentor junior staff.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead development of estimates across engineering, fabrication, procurement, and construction
  • Review scope, specifications, and drawings to define estimate content
  • Perform material take-offs and pricing for equipment and sub-trades
  • Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes
  • Develop cost-loaded project schedules
  • Present estimates to internal and external stakeholders
  • Identify strategies for competitive bidding
  • Mentor and guide junior estimating staff

Requirements:

  • 15+ years of experience in estimating roles
  • University degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Technical/Trades diploma
  • Expert-level proficiency in MS Excel and strong MS Office skills
  • Advanced knowledge of cost estimating methodologies and industry guidelines (CIQS, AACE)
  • Experience with fabrication, construction practices, and project scheduling
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage deadlines
  • Prior oil & gas construction and manufacturing experience preferred
