Senior Network Consultant

The organization is seeking an experienced Senior Network Consultant to support a series of upcoming network initiatives across multiple locations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, configuration, and optimization of complex data routing and switching environments.
  • Perform comprehensive wireless assessments, identify coverage gaps, and develop reliable, scalable wireless network solutions.
  • Configure, deploy, and troubleshoot wireless infrastructure with a strong emphasis on Meraki technologies.
  • Conduct on-site network evaluations across various locations within and outside the city.
  • Produce technical documentation, assessment reports, implementation plans, and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless execution of network upgrades, installations, and performance improvements.
  • Provide advanced troubleshooting expertise for both wired and wireless environments.
  • Support the delivery of consistent network standards and best practices across all assigned sites.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Extensive experience with data routing and switching, including advanced configuration and troubleshooting.
  • Strong hands-on skills in wireless network assessment, setup, and optimization.
  • Proven expertise with Cisco Meraki wireless and networking solutions.
  • Ability to travel frequently for on-site assessments and deployments across Canada.
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with technical teams and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining strong attention to detail and project timelines.

Work Model & Travel

  • Location:
    Edmonton (Hybrid – work from the Edmonton office with remote flexibility as needed).
  • Travel:
    Required; trips may be up to two weeks, with most being about one week in duration.
  • Most travel would be in the Edmonton area if onsite work is required for any client work.
  • Would be dependent on client project if any travel is required. But in most cases travel outside of Edmonton would be low. Might be one or two trips in a month (within Alberta).
