About the Role

We're looking for a Principal QA Automation Developer to lead test strategy and automation across large-scale Agile enterprise platforms.

You'll work within a fast-moving, human-centred digital-delivery team—designing test frameworks, validating APIs, verifying data integrity, and ensuring exceptional performance and security in modernized cloud solutions.

This senior consulting role requires hands-on technical depth, leadership in automation practices, and the ability to embed quality within every stage of the delivery lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and execute comprehensive test strategies covering functional, integration, regression, and non-functional testing.
• Plan, write, and maintain automated test suites for web, API, and database layers using modern frameworks and CI/CD pipelines.
• Validate complex data flows and perform data-conversion testing across relational and cloud data stores.
• Lead API and microservice testing, including security, performance, and standards compliance.
• Drive non-functional testing—load, performance, usability, compatibility, accessibility, and end-to-end scenarios.
• Build and maintain automation infrastructure integrated with Git, Azure DevOps, and CI/CD workflows.
• Collaborate with architects and developers to embed testing early in the SDLC ("shift-left").
• Coach QA engineers and developers on test-driven development (TDD/BDD) practices.
• Track defects, analyze root causes, and ensure issues are resolved without regression.
• Define and report on quality metrics and KPIs for continuous improvement.

Mandatory Skills –

• 15+ years overall in QA engineering, test automation, and software quality leadership.
• 10+ years planning, writing, and executing manual and automated test cases/scripts.
• 8–10+ years working on large-scale Agile enterprise projects (15+ team members).
• 8+ years' experience with database testing (data conversion, integrity, and cross-system validation).
• 8+ years implementing non-functional testing (load, performance, security, usability, compatibility).
• 7+ years building and maintaining automation frameworks for enterprise environments.
• 6+ years performing API testing integrated with CI/CD pipelines (Postman, REST Assured, ReadyAPI, etc.).
• Excellent knowledge of Agile/DevOps quality practices and defect-management workflows.

Highly Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills

• 5+ years modernizing QA processes during legacy-to-digital transformations.
• 4+ years' experience using data-analytics tools (SQL, Python, Power BI) to identify quality trends.
• 3+ years leading QA teams of 3 or more engineers in enterprise projects.
• 3+ years conducting User Acceptance Testing (UAT) in complex, multi-stakeholder programs.
• 2+ years working with JIRA, Example Mapping, and Dual-Track Development methodologies.
• Knowledge of AI-driven or model-based testing frameworks is a plus.
