Crossroads Children's Mental Health Centre (CCMHC) provides a wide range of mental health services for children under the age of 12 and their families. We specialize in social, behavioral, emotional and mental health concerns such as aggression, impulsivity, social skills, anxiety, sadness, depression, fear, and suicidal thoughts. CCMHC is committed to ensuring that all programs produce effective and positive outcomes for clients through evaluation, research and the incorporation of evidence-based services and practices. CCMHC is committed to inclusive and equitable services that provide culturally strengthening interventions to promote positive mental health and wellbeing, through direct service delivery and/or referrals to partner organizations.

A vehicle and driver's license are required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Completion of a Child and Youth Worker Diploma, or a Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Counselling, Psychology, or an equivalent field. (Essential)
  • Bilingual (French and English) (Essential)
  • Minimum of three years of relevant experience in children's mental health. (Preferred)
  • Strong understanding of gender-based violence and the ability to provide psychoeducation on this topic to children and their caregivers.
  • Knowledge of the impacts of trauma on children and families.
  • Proven ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of treatment principles, developmental and care needs of children, and family dynamics.
  • Broad understanding of management strategies to support children with social, emotional, and behavioural challenges.
  • Training in the Collaborative Problem Solving (CPS) approach or Circle of Security (CoS) is considered an asset.
