Zeldin, Collin is a general practice law firm.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Part time position for part time senior lawyer. Variable hours.

Flexible hours and days, totalling approximately 3 days per week, including in office and at home.

Ideal for experienced legal secretary/clerk who is looking to wind down before fully retiring.

Full training by existing clerk who is being called to the bar, October 27th.

Should be comfortable with dealing directly with clients, normal correspondence, QuickBooks docket/ disbursement entries, invoicing, corporate annual minutes/ resolutions, wills and estates, telephone and email answering.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITY:

Corporate/Litigation/Estate- Wills/ General Administrative Duties:

  • Draft all correspondence and letters to clients, counsel etc.
  • Complete corporate minute books.
  • Prepare annual resolutions/minutes of meetings as required.
  • Draft and file business name registrations, limited partnership and general partnership registrations and renewals and prepare annuals returns as needed.
  • Complete and file Form 1 NOC with Ministry when addresses, directors or officers change.
  • Prepare corporate documentation including but not limited to Articles of Incorporation, Articles of Amendment, Continuance, Amalgamation, Dissolution, Revival
  • Prepare, serve and file court documents.
  • Drafting of wills and Power of Attorneys.
  • General office support including but not limited to; photocopying, faxing, scheduling, phones, mail and courier pick up.
  • Provide clerical, administrative support with respect to billing and accounting as required.
  • Provide administrative support including transcription of data by way of dictation or written correspondence from lawyer.

EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

· Must have Law Clerk diploma or equivalent in post-secondary education or experience.

· 5+ years of work experience in a law office or law department; and

· Experience working with online filing systems.

· Exceptional oral and written communications skills

· Excellent attention to detail

· Ability to work independently with minimal instructions and supervision.

· Ability to handle multiple tasks and maintain accurate records.

· Excellent organizational skills and established bring forward system to manage imperative dates.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

· Microsoft Word Programs including but not limited to: MS Word, MS Access, and Outlook, PcLaw, Divorcemate, and Automated Civil Litigation

· Cyberbhan
