The Role

We are seeking a Mid-Senior Frontend Developer to join as a founding team member. to join as a founding team member. You will be the architect and builder responsible for the frontend development of the Aeternum Platform.

Reporting to the Head of Engineering and working closely with the Product Designer, you will own the frontend implementation of our two core systems:

• The Legacy Preservation System: family trees, memory sharing, and archival system.
• The Final Chapter System: wills, digital inheritance, and posthumous messaging.

The Tech Stack

We operate on the bleeding edge of the React Native ecosystem. You must be proficient in:

• Core: React Native 0.81, Expo ~54, TypeScript 5.8+
• Data & State: Apollo Client 3.13+, GraphQL (Queries, Mutations, WebSocket Subscriptions)
• Styling: gluestack-ui, NativeWind 4+ (Tailwind)
• Navigation: Expo Router 5+ (File-based routing)

What You Will Do:

• Architect for Privacy: Build secure, encrypted flows for our Personal Will Manager and Digital Estate Management tools. Security is not an afterthought here; it is the product.
• Build the Family Tree: Develop complex visualization components with drag-and-drop interactions to map family relationships and "Circle-based" sharing permissions.
• Real-Time Connection: Implement real-time messaging and "Legacy Messages" (posthumous delivery) using GraphQL subscriptions.
• Platform Parity: Ensure a seamless experience across iOS, Android, and Web (PWA) using Expo's unified workflow.
• AI Integration: Collaborate on integrating "Aela," our AI assistant, into the frontend for guided user setups and biography generation.

Who You Are:

• We are looking for a builder who can take a feature from concept to deployment with minimal supervision.
• Experience: 4+ years of professional development experience, with at least 2 years dedicated to React Native/Expo.
• Technical Depth: You understand the "Why" behind your code. You know when to use a global state vs. local state, and you understand the performance implications of list rendering in React Native.
• Security Mindset: You understand the gravity of handling data like legal wills and personal biographies.
• Startup DNA: You thrive in ambiguity. You don't wait for a ticket to be perfect; you ask questions and propose solutions.

Bonus Points If You Have:

• Experience with AWS S3 integration for rich media.
• Knowledge of encryption standards (AES/RSA) in a frontend context.
• Experience in FinTech, LegalTech, FamilyTech, or Social Media Platforms.
