Role Description

This is a full-time "in-office" role for a Construction Business Development at BUILD IT. As a Construction Business Development Executive, you will be responsible for driving business development efforts, acquiring new clients, and maintaining strong relationships within the commercial construction industry. You will be responsible for researching and generating leads, preparing proposals, negotiating contracts, and ensuring project success from initial sale to project completion in the Greater Toronto Area.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field (MBA preferred).
  • 5+ years of sales, account management, or business development experience in commercial construction, specifically in Tenant Improvement & Ground-up.
  • Experience working with a GC is considered an asset.
  • Skilled in networking in the Real Estate Development and Construction industry.
  • Proven ability to meet or exceed sales targets and grow business in a competitive market.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, market trends, and industry competition.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • A go-getter attitude with a proactive approach to business development and sales.
  • Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Pipedrive) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Strong strategic thinking, analytical skills, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Willingness to travel for trade shows, conferences, and client meetings.
  • Show resilience in overcoming challenges, forward thinking, and dedication to personal and company successes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Prospecting: Identify new leads and build relationships with potential clients through strategic outreach, including cold calling and networking.
  • Market Research: Conduct research on market opportunities, evaluate pipeline possibilities, and analyze competitors.
  • Client Engagement: Meet and nurture potential new clients, providing tailored construction solutions and expert advice.
  • Pitching and Proposals: Develop compelling presentations, create proposals that meet client needs, and manage the submission process.
  • Sales Outreach: Execute strategic outreach objectives aligned with company targets and goals.
  • CRM Management: Maintain accurate and updated records in the company's CRM system, tracking pipeline progress and opportunity status.
  • Event Representation: Attend trade shows and industry events to represent the company and build client networks.
  • Performance Reporting: Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) and business development activities to senior management.
  • Collaborative Strategy: Work with cross-functional teams to refine marketing materials, create a competitive edge, and enhance overall company positioning.
