Key ResponsibilitiesWe're on the lookout for a full time Data Analyst. We are seeking a detail-oriented Data Analyst with strong financial domain knowledge and hands-on SQL expertise to support data analysis, reporting, and data integration initiatives. This role plays a critical part in translating financial and operational data from source systems into standardized, trusted data models used for analytics, reporting, and decision-making.
The ideal candidate is comfortable working between finance stakeholders and technical teams, understands how financial data flows across systems, and can document and validate source-to-target mappings with precision. In addition, typical duties and responsibilities for a Data Engineer position may include:
- Analyze financial and operational data from multiple source systems (e.g., GL, AP, AR, billing, policy, or transaction systems)
- Write and optimize SQL queries to extract, transform, and validate data
- Develop and maintain source-to-target mappings for data warehouses, data lakes, or analytics platforms
- Partner with finance, accounting, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and definitions
- Validate data accuracy, completeness, and reconciliation between source systems and target models
- Support financial reporting, KPI development, and ad-hoc analysis
- Document data definitions, business rules, transformations, and assumptions
- Assist in data quality initiatives, issue resolution, and root-cause analysis
- Collaborate with data engineers, architects, and BI developers during implementations and enhancements
- Bachelor degree in computer science or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in a data analyst or financial data analyst role
- Solid understanding of financial data structures (GL, chart of accounts, transactions, balances)
- Ability to perform root cause analysis on external and internal processes and data to identify opportunities for improvement and answer questions
- Experience supporting data integration, migrations, or M&A system consolidation
- Knowledge of ETL/ELT tools (e.g., Fabric, Informatica, SSIS, Azure Data Factory, or similar)
- Experience with BI Tools (PowerBI, SSRS, Tableau, etc.)
- Familiarity with data governance, data quality, or financial controls
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, demonstrated through the preparation of reports and presentations for diverse audiences.
- Familiarity with data warehouses, dimensional models, or canonical data models
- Ability to clearly document and communicate technical and business concepts
- Strong Analytical, problem solving, and attend to detail skills.
