Social Media Content Creator

Job Overview

We are a fast-growing local laundry pickup & delivery service in Toronto. We're looking for a creative and tech-savvy student who loves content creation, knows how to make engaging social media posts and videos, and is excited to help educate customers about a modern, convenient laundry solution.

This is a hands-on role ideal for someone passionate about photography, video production, AI-driven design tools, and social media storytelling.

Responsibilities

• Plan, shoot, and edit high-quality photos & short videos/reels (on-site when needed)
• Design static and carousel posts using Canva (or similar tools)
• Create educational & promotional content explaining how the service works
• Develop content calendar aligned with marketing goals
• Use AI tools (ChatGPT, Canva AI, etc.) to generate ideas and optimize copy
• Write engaging captions, headlines, and calls-to-action
• Research local trends, competitors, and social media formats
• Analyze post performance and suggest improvements
• Assist in planning mini-campaigns (promo weeks, customer testimonials, etc.)
• Maintain brand consistency in visual style and messaging

Requirements

• Must have an existing portfolio with clear successful deliverables, and reference(s).
• Currently enrolled in a related field (graphic design, media, marketing, digital marketing, communications, etc.)
• Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident.
• Proven ability to shoot photos and videos using smartphone or camera
• Proficiency with Canva or similar graphic/video design tools
• Familiarity with AI content tools (ChatGPT, DALL·E, Midjourney, etc.)
• Active user of social media (Instagram & Facebook) with awareness of trends
• Basic video editing skills (CapCut, Premiere Rush, or similar)
• Strong English writing & communication skills
• Creativity, initiative, and ability to work independently
• Reliable, organized, and able to meet deadlines
• Experience with Meta Business Suite or similar scheduling/analytics tools
• Proven experience in social media management, content creation, or digital marketing roles, with a portfolio and reference(s).
• Ability to create visually appealing graphics and videos that align with branding guidelines.
• Excellent proofreading skills with keen attention to detail for all written content.
• Experience with Facebook Advertising or other paid social media campaigns is a plus.
• Bonus: Basic photography skills for capturing high-quality images; familiarity with digital photography equipment is advantageous.
• Effective communication skills for collaborating across teams and engaging with online communities.
• Bonus: Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro) for graphic design and video editing.
• Bonus: Familiarity with social media management tools such as Hootsuite or Buffer.
• Bonus: comfortable being on camera as a brand ambassador.

Job Types: Part-time, Fixed term contract

Pay: $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 4 – 8 per week
