Job Summary

We are seeking a friendly and organized Host/Host to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for our guests, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere. This role requires strong communication skills and a passion for hospitality, as you will be responsible for managing guest seating, handling reservations, and assisting with various front-of-house tasks.

Duties

  • Greet guests warmly upon arrival and provide them with an accurate wait time, if necessary.
  • Manage the seating chart to optimize table turnover while ensuring guest comfort.
  • Answer phone calls promptly, taking reservations and providing information about the restaurant's menu and services.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand and dining area.
  • Collaborate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during busy periods.
  • Assist in training new hosts/hostesses on proper procedures and customer service standards.
  • Handle guest inquiries and complaints professionally, escalating issues to management when necessary.
  • Utilize POS systems, including Micros POS, to manage reservations and track guest preferences.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a restaurant or hospitality environment is preferred.
  • Strong guest service skills with a focus on customer satisfaction.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with food service operations and basic knowledge of menu items is advantageous.
  • Proficient phone etiquette for handling calls effectively.
