Quality Control Technician

Overview
APEX is currently accepting applications for a Quality Control Technician within its Custom Contract Manufacturing Group. This is a full-time permanent position reporting to the Production Manager.
The position is accountable for in-process quality monitoring and quality control activities. In this role you will interact with the production team, front line supervisors, and office staff to ensure compliance is achieved.
Responsibilities
- Perform incoming, in-process and final quality inspections including, but not limited to dimensional inspection, visual inspection, and document inspections using established procedures.
- Assist with the development and adherence to the Quality Assurance procedures and processes.
- Identify and document Q.C. deficiencies.
- Lead and/or participate in root cause analysis and corrective action initiatives.
- Maintain Quality Control/Assurance records.
- Initiate and participate in quality investigations and studies to support corrective actions and failure analysis.
- Maintain and support the calibration of tools and equipment per established program.
- Participate in process improvements.
- Other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Experience in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to read and interpret blueprint drawings
- Understanding of GD&T principles
- Experience using inspection equipment (tooling/gages)
- Experience involving the application of applied quality control concepts
- Very comfortable using computers and MS Word/Excel and Power Point
- Ability to use or learn to use 3D CAD software (i.e. Catia, Solid Works, Auto Cad etc.)
- Highly motivated and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Efficient problem solver and decision maker.
- CMM or portable 3D measurement arm experience is considered (an asset).
- Knowledge and experience using MRP/ERP functions would be considered (an asset).
