Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Dispatcher to coordinate transportation and logistics operations within our supply chain network. The ideal candidate will manage freight movements, communicate effectively with drivers and clients, and utilize various transportation management systems to ensure timely delivery and efficient operations. This role is vital in maintaining seamless shipping and receiving processes, supporting our commitment to excellent service and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and schedule freight shipments using Transportation Management Systems (TMS) such as SyteLine and AS400.
- Manage shipping & receiving activities, ensuring accurate data entry and documentation.
- Communicate with carriers, drivers, and clients via multi-line phone systems, maintaining professional phone etiquette.
- Monitor supply chain operations, analyze data for efficiency improvements, and resolve logistical issues promptly.
- Oversee freight movement, including scheduling pickups and deliveries while adhering to deadlines.
- Collaborate with 3PL providers to optimize transportation solutions and manage freight costs effectively.
- Maintain detailed records of shipments, delays, and other relevant logistics information for analysis purposes.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies during all transportation activities.
Skills
- Proficiency in Transportation Management Systems such as SyteLine, AS400, and other logistics software.
- Strong understanding of supply chain processes, freight management, and shipping & receiving procedures.
- Excellent data entry skills with high accuracy and typing speed.
- Analytical skills to interpret logistics data and identify process improvements.
- Effective communication skills for coordinating with internal teams, carriers, and clients via multi-line phone systems.
- Knowledge of 3PL operations, freight regulations, and shipping documentation requirements.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining professionalism in phone etiquette.
