School District 72 (Campbell River) is located on the east coast of central Vancouver Island, extending north to Sayward and south to Oyster River. The district also includes the outer islands of Read, Cortes, and Quadra. The district serves over 5,600 students in 18 schools with a diverse range of programs that are progressive and responsive to the educational needs and interests of students.

  • A minimum of three (3) university library courses, with a commitment to complete a university diploma/degree in Teacher Librarianship.

  • One (1) year of school librarian experience.

  • Digital and information technology literacy skills applicable to research and library, including the ability to manage the Follett DESTINY Library Manager software.
  • A demonstrated commitment in support of robust literacy development.
  • An understanding and experience in resource management and evaluation.
  • Knowledge of current educational practices and trends.
  • The ability to coordinate support staff work.
  • The ability to provide instructional support to teaching staff.
  • The ability to provide leadership in school and district activities to support the school.

The starting full-time salary for this teaching position ranges from $60,015 and $109,520. Placement on a salary scale is subject to verification of experience and certification and will be done in accordance with the current collective agreement.
