We are looking for a dedicated, dynamic, compassionate, innovative, and inspiring teacher librarian to join our school family. King David is a growing school with approximately 270 students and 50 staff members. We are looking for an educator who will thrive in a relational setting and will support and implement a competency-based approach to teaching while caring for and supporting students' emotional well-being and development.
The successful candidate will have a love of reading, experience running a library, and a joy for teaching adolescents. You must value diversity as it relates to all people, including aspects of identity, and have respect for indigenous traditions and ways of knowing. We also want you to know that you will be a valued and cared-for member of our school team.
Experience in running a library in a school setting
Ability to teach research skills and core competency skills to students in the library or in the classroom setting
Works collaboratively with teachers from all subject areas
Be a contributor to our co-curricular program through running a club or coaching a sports team
Professional development is supported, both in and out of school, through conference attendance or course and workshop participation
We encourage teachers to develop new courses, clubs, teams, and other student opportunities
