Job Description
We are seeking an experienced
Senior Robotic Process Automation (RPA) Analyst & Developer
to support a large-scale finance automation program. The successful candidate will design, develop, assess, and advise on automation initiatives using
UiPath
,
SAP (ECC 6.0 / DRMIS)
, and complementary intelligent automation tools.
This role is fully
on-site in Ottawa
and requires a highly analytical professional capable of leading end-to-end RPA initiatives (from discovery to deployment), supporting change management, and providing strategic advice to senior stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
1. Automation Development
- Develop, configure, test, and deploy UiPath automations aligned with financial business processes.
- Build RPA solutions interacting with SAP/DRMIS environments.
- Prepare detailed
Process Definition Documents (PDDs)
and
Solution Design Documents (SDDs)
. - Validate design and technical documentation with business and technical stakeholders.
- Troubleshoot and resolve development roadblocks.
2. RPA Opportunity Assessment & Prioritization
- Conduct automation feasibility assessments and ROI analyses.
- Lead workshops, interviews, and discovery sessions to understand process challenges.
- Develop business requirements and prioritize use cases using structured evaluation methodologies.
3. Strategic Advisory Services
- Provide expert guidance on RPA, intelligent automation, operating models, and best practices.
- Advise senior management on automation strategy, maturity, and capabilities.
- Support change management, training plans, communications, and deployment strategies.
4. Deployment & Optimization
- Support testing, UAT, and transition to production environments.
- Analyze deployed automations to validate performance and client satisfaction.
- Assist in building KPIs, dashboards, and performance analytics.
- Provide knowledge transfer (KT) to internal COE teams.
5. Reporting & Planning
- Maintain a weekly work plan with progress updates, next steps, risks, and issues.
- Participate in meetings with program leads, analysts, stakeholders, and business units.
Mandatory Qualifications (must be demonstrated in detail)
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 2 years (within the last 5 years)
developing RPA solutions using
UiPath
in a complex environment. - Minimum 2 years (within the last 5 years)
automating SAP business processes, including workflows in
SAP ECC 6.0
or DRMIS. - Senior-level expertise in
computer application support, process automation, and solution design
. - Experience writing PDDs, SDDs, and other RPA project documentation.
- Experience conducting feasibility studies and automation assessments.
- Advanced English communication (oral, written, comprehension).
Technical Competencies
- Strong hands-on mastery of
UiPath Studio, Orchestrator, REFramework
, and UiPath best practices. - Strong understanding of SAP tables, transactions, and automation constraints.
- Ability to work with Protected B information on government-issued equipment.
Desired (Asset) Qualifications
- UiPath Advanced Developer Certification.
- Experience advising COEs or participating in automation governance.
- Experience implementing RPA in federal or provincial government environments.
- Knowledge of AI-enabled automation, document understanding, or ML-related tools.
- Experience delivering training, guidance, or KT activities.
