About The Role
Regional Manager (RM)
Nova Cannabis Inc.
is a national cannabis retailer operating under the Value Buds banner. Reporting to the Vice President of Operations, the Regional Manager is responsible for the growth, management, and success of multiple stores within the assigned region. This role requires overseeing operations for numerous retail store locations, driving strategy, sales growth, cost management, and succession planning while ensuring compliance with all provincial and federal regulations. The ideal candidate is an entrepreneurial, thoughtful leader with proven multi-unit management experience in the cannabis, retail, or hospitality industries.
Role And Responsibilities

Regional Manager
role includes, but is not limited to:
Leadership And People Development
- Lead and mentor Area Managers to deliver exceptional customer service, effective sales strategies, and operational excellence across the assigned region.
- Drive talent development by identifying, mentoring, and inspiring future leaders, ensuring a strong pipeline for succession planning.
- Participate in the recruitment and hiring of Area Managers, Store Managers, and Customer Experience Representatives, ensuring the selection of high-quality candidates.
- Provide ongoing coaching, performance feedback, and development plans to Area Managers and Store Managers, conducting regular performance appraisals and salary reviews.
- Foster a collaborative, high-performing culture aligned with Nova Cannabis's values and mission.
Operational Excellence
- Oversee day-to-day operations across the assigned region, ensuring all stores meet operational standards and deliver consistent, high-quality customer experiences.
- Conduct regular site visits to evaluate performance, review key metrics, and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Partner with the Property Management team to resolve maintenance issues and manage scheduled facility maintenance.
- Ensure operational guidelines and customer-related functions comply with Nova Cannabis's policies and provincial regulatory requirements.
- Respond to audit reports, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions to maintain compliance and operational efficiency.
Customer And Market Engagement
- Drive customer satisfaction by maintaining a strong focus on service excellence and creating memorable shopping experiences.
- Expand the customer base by identifying new opportunities and building rapport with existing customers.
- Monitor market trends and customer feedback, leveraging insights to improve store performance and drive revenue growth.
- Ensure stores execute promotions, merchandising, and branding strategies effectively.
Financial And Strategic Management
- Analyze regional sales metrics, KPIs, and performance reports to identify trends and proactively implement strategies for improvement.
- Meet or exceed budget targets by optimizing revenue growth and controlling costs across the region.
- Develop and implement strategic initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and profitability.
- Provide feedback and recommendations to senior leadership on regional issues to maximize effectiveness and ensure alignment with corporate goals.
Experience And Qualifications
- Education: Post-secondary degree or diploma in Business or a relevant field is preferred.
Experience:
Minimum 3-5 years of multi-unit management experience in retail or hospitality industries.
Cannabis, liquor, or healthcare experience is an asset.
Skills:
Knowledge of retail operations and best practices.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite applications.
- Experience in strategy, channel execution, training, and communication.
Working knowledge of cannabis regulations in BC, AB, SK, MB, and ON.
Certifications:
BC: Selling It Right Certification.
- AB: SellSafe Certification.
- SK: CRTP Certification.
- MB: CRWTP Certification.
ON: CannSell Certification.
Valid Canadian Police Information Centre (CPIC) clearance.
- Must pass provincial personal disclosure checks (financial and criminal) as required.

Additional Requirements:
Must be 18-19 years of age or older (depending on province).
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Must be accessible outside of standard business hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
