Production Electronics Assembler

JOB DESCRIPTION:
On Track Controls is a world leader in locomotive monitoring and control systems. OTC requires an individual capable of following detailed Harnessing & Product Assembly drawings while building our electronics sub-assemblies & top-level products.
OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Follow technical procedures, drawings, and instruction for the preparation of assembly of circuit cards, cable and sub-assemblies.
- Cut wire and cables to length, strip, solder, assemble, label, test, and inspect as required.
- Work efficiently and neatly to complete required assemblies.
- Operate production machines and test instruments.
- Ability to solder wires and various parts on circuit boards.
- Ability to cross-check their own sub-assemblies and top-level assemblies and submit to quality control for final inspection.
- Other related responsibilities not detailed here but that could reasonably be expected.
Comply with:
- Quality Management procedures.
- Drawings, manufacturing orders, and related information.
- Shop procedures and machine operating instructions.
- Scrap, defect, and non-conformance procedures.
- Final inspection and testing procedures.
- Health and safety requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to read and speak English; can communicate effectively.
- High school equivalent to Canadian grade 12.
- Excellent mechanical aptitude and ability.
- Fluency in the English language is a must.
- Computer literacy is needed with familiarity in Microsoft Word & Excel.
- Must be neat, well-organized and be able to prioritize tasks and get things done accurately and on time.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
- Production, manufacturing, and soldering experience is a must.
- Harness building.
- Work with electronic components
- Good hand-eye coordination.
- Ability to follow instructions.
- Normal physical mobility includes strength to lift and carry 30 lbs.

- Anti-static control awareness
- WHMIS
- Applicable ISO quality elements
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: From $23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
