Remote fishing lodge looking for lodge chef to provide meals for guests and staff. This includes any knowledge or experience in restaurants or private kitchens. Customer service skills are also necessary.

Work in the great outdoors at fly-in fishing lodge, Big Canon Lake Lodge. Room, food, and fishing all included while you are working and living at the lodge. .

Responsibilities:

  • Cooking breakfast, lunch, and dinner for lodge guests and staff
  • Making additional sides like bread and cookies
  • Keeping kitchen work space clean and up to food safety regulations
  • Collecting pantry order and reporting to lodge manager
  • Flexibility to perform additional duties as assigned by a lodge manager

To be successful in this role, you will need to have the following qualifications and skills:

  • A positive attitude, a strong work ethic, and good communication skills
  • Experience or knowledge of cooking in a restaurant style environment as well as using a meat smoker and grill
  • Food handler certification
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • The willingness to follow instructions and adhere to food safety standards
  • Willingness to live and work in a remote and rustic environment

You will be required to live on-site at the lodge, which is accessible only by float plane or boat. The living quarters are basic and private. You will be provided with meals, accommodations, free fishing and other outdoor activities, transportation from neighboring cities if needed, and a competitive salary. Season ends October 1st but we can be flexible with ending dates.
