Summary:

The Manager, Product Development plays a pivotal role in shaping Enercare's product strategy and driving innovation across the Home Services division. This role is responsible for planning, forecasting, and executing the introduction of new residential products and the evolution of existing offerings, with a strong emphasis on strategic alignment to business goals and market dynamics.

As a strategic leader, you will collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing Communications, Sales, Field Operations, Call Centre, and Supply Chain teams, as well as externally with vendor partners, to ensure product initiatives are customer-centric, commercially viable, and operationally scalable. You will help translate market insights and customer needs into a robust product roadmap that reinforces Enercare's leadership and supports long-term growth.

With the direct ownership of the Water Treatment, Water Purification, and Water Heater portfolios, you'll lead the development of innovative solutions, drive performance improvements, and uncover new opportunities to grow these core and essential categories. This position is supported by the Senior Manager, Product Development and will be part of a growing team of product development professionals

Responsibilities:

  • Development of Product POVs that highlight industry trends, competitive intelligence, and customer insights to tangibly address new market opportunities and/or gaps in existing product portfolio
  • Participate in the co-development of a forward-looking product roadmap including product selection, market evaluation, value proposition development, customer journey mapping, business case development and forecasting across line extensions and net new products
  • Serve as a core member of the New Product Introduction (NPI) committee, owing the intaking and evaluating of new product opportunities for their respective portfolios
  • Co-lead successful product releases, managing activities across the entire end-to-end customer experience. Key activities will include multiple streams of work - change management, go-to-market strategies and tactics, marketing campaigns, beginning/during/post sales customer support, accounting and billing, field operations and training
  • Build and deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual NPI and executive reports that track product performance, strategic impact, and market feedback
  • Manage existing vendor relationships and lead strategic sourcing of new partners to support product innovation and operational excellence.
  • Partner with the Product Management, Product Ops, and Marketing team to develop pricing and offer strategies
  • Partner with internal groups such as Marketing, Training, Call Centre, and Marketing Communications to execute go-to-market plans

Qualifications:

  • At least 2-5 years' experience in a product development and/or management role
  • Previous experience working in an innovation team or incubator (you thrive in white space)
  • Expert level product management skills, specific to new product development process and implementing Stage Gate processes. CSPO and/or PMP certification being an asset
  • High technical proficiency, with the ability to quickly grasp technical concepts
  • Must be a self-starter with a curiosity to tackle problems from a business/financial, operational, and customer perspectives.
  • Carry a 'can-do' attitude that takes ownership of problems and returns with a solution that outlines tangible actions to overcome challenges
  • Strong financial acumen, specific to the development of business cases, financial models and unit economics
  • Experience in home services, utilities or energy sector being an asset
  • Exceptional verbal & written communication and presentation skills to multiple audience types, including Senior-level executives and field teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with diverse cross-functional teams to achieve results
  • Passion for innovation and strategic growth, with a track record of delivering measurable business impact

Compensation:

$74,817 - $118,211

Please note that the compensation range listed includes base salary and potential incentive pay. Incentives such as bonuses are not guaranteed and depend on individual performance and company results. Actual compensation within the range will be determined based on skills, experience, and qualifications.
