DESCRIPTION

Cummins is looking for an In-shop diesel technician to join our Distribution business in Edmonton, Alberta.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Applies documented procedures and policies to complete basic repairs and schedule maintenance, including preparing required parts and tools.
  • Disassemble, inspect and clean engines and /or engine components.
  • Assists with completion required documentation, such as work completed documentation, time sheets, warranty claims and quality forms, via handwritten forms or business system input screens.
  • Completes training in line with skill and business requirements.
  • Maintains work area and tools for cleanliness and proper operation.
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant Health, Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation and reports any issues / incidents to their supervisor.

RESPONSIBILITIES

In order to be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Education, Licenses, Certifications: Heavy duty red seal certification Commercial transport is required for this role
  • Valid local drivers license

Experience:

  • Advanced level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products.
  • Experience providing technical advice and coaching to more junior technicians is considered an asset for this role.
  • Experience with full chassis repairs: brake systems, A/C diagnostics, chassis electrical, transmission repairs.

About the role:

  • You will complete repairs and rebuilds on engine products in a service workshop under minimal supervision.
  • Work will also include: full chassis work, diagnostics using software like Cummins's Insite, minor and major engine repairs.
  • Union environment.
  • Working hours are Monday-Friday 7am-330pm
  • Current salary is 48.32$ hourly as per CBA
