The Civil Earthworks Construction Manager will work with multiple teams and stakeholders, overseeing and managing construction projects from start to finish. In this role, they will work to ensure that the projects are completed on-time, within budget and according to client specifications.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop detailed project plans and timelines that outline key milestones, deliverables and deadlines.
  • Work closely with relevant stakeholders, contractors, and vendors, serving as the main point of contact to ensure efficient project delivery.
  • Oversee and lead construction teams – assigning tasks and monitoring performance.
  • Monitor construction activities, ensuring they are performed in accordance with safety standards and quality requirements.
  • Manage and allocate resources, including personnel, materials, and equipment.
  • Conduct ongoing risk assessments – identifying and developing strategies to reduce risks.
  • Prepare and present reports on the status of the construction activities.
  • Ensuring all necessary permits are obtained and inspections are scheduled and completed.
  • Oversee final inspection and hand over to client, ensuring all documents are provided.

The role will start in the office and then transition to an on-site position involving travel. The schedule will be 16 days on and 12 days off, with paid travel.

Requirements
  • 7+ years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the mining or construction industries.
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management Certificate, or Journeyperson certification would be considered an asset.
  • Valid First Aid.
  • A leadership certificate is considered an asset.
  • Proficient in construction and project management software such as AutoCAD, MS Projects and P6.
  • Knowledgeable with the Microsoft Suite of programs.
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration and reporting.
  • Must be able to manage multiple tasks, priorities, and meet project deadlines.
