We're looking for a driven and collaborative Mine Construction Lead to guide and grow our closure and grouting practice while leading project delivery. Responsibilities Will Include:
- Leading closure and grouting projects end-to-end, including scope development, resourcing, schedules, budgets, and deliverable quality.
- Serving as the technical and project lead for execution planning, strategies, and risk assessments.
- Guiding development of deliverables (plans, cost estimates, schedules, monitoring/maintenance plans, and regulatory submission content).
- Overseeing closure approaches for underground and surface elements as applicable (shafts/adits/openings, backfilling, demolition, earthworks, water management, site stabilization, and long-term public safety controls).
- Coordinating with environmental, geotechnical, civil, hydrogeology, and permitting teams.
- Managing and contributing to financial assurance / liability estimates, ensuring assumptions are clear, consistent, and auditable.
- Supporting business development: identifying opportunities, preparing proposals, and building strong client relationships.
- Engaging with regulators, Indigenous communities, and stakeholders to support project scope and objectives.
- Mentoring and developing team members, strengthening internal tools/templates, and contributing to continuous improvement.
- Overseeing construction operations relating to mine closure and grouting.
- Participating in site visits and field reviews as required, with a strong commitment to health and safety.
- Assisting with other general responsibilities to support project and business needs.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Registration (or eligibility for registration) as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Saskatchewan (or another Canadian jurisdiction).
- 10+ years of progressive experience in mine closure planning, reclamation engineering, grouting, or related mine lifecycle disciplines, with demonstrated project leadership.
- Experience producing and defending cost estimates/financial assurance and supporting regulatory deliverables.
- Proven ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams, manage competing priorities, and deliver high-quality work in a consulting environment.
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal), including comfort presenting to clients and stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining strong collaboration with the broader team.
- Ability to travel to sites and client locations (as needed).
