Overview

We are seeking a friendly and efficient Food Service Counter Attendant to join our team. This role involves providing excellent customer service, preparing food items, and managing transactions in a fast-paced food service environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food industry standards, strong communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently while maintaining high sanitation and safety standards. Previous restaurant or food industry experience is preferred but not required; training will be provided to ensure you succeed in this role.

Duties

  • Greet customers warmly and assist with menu selections
  • Prepare and assemble food items according to company standards, ensuring quality and presentation
  • Operate POS systems, including Micros POS, for order processing and cash handling
  • Manage cash register transactions accurately, including processing payments and giving change
  • Upsell menu items to enhance customer experience and increase sales
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the counter area, utensils, and equipment following food safety guidelines
  • Ensure proper food handling procedures are followed at all times
  • Manage time effectively during busy periods to serve customers promptly
  • Assist with inventory management and restocking supplies as needed
  • Uphold excellent customer service standards by addressing customer inquiries and resolving issues professionally

Requirements

  • Prior experience in food service, cashiering, or restaurant environment preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided
  • Knowledge of POS systems, especially Micros POS, is a plus
  • Strong customer service skills with a friendly demeanor
  • Ability to handle cash accurately and perform basic math calculations quickly
  • Understanding of food safety, sanitation, and proper food handling procedures
  • Good time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently during peak hours
  • Kitchen or food industry experience is advantageous but not required
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
  • Basic understanding of upselling techniques to promote menu items effectively
