Job Summary

We are seeking a friendly and efficient Food Service Counter Attendant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, preparing food items, handling transactions accurately, and maintaining a clean and organized work area. This role is essential in ensuring a positive dining experience for our customers while adhering to food safety and sanitation standards. Previous restaurant or food industry experience is preferred but not required; training will be provided to the right candidate.

Responsibilities

  • Greet customers warmly and take their orders accurately using POS systems such as Micros POS
  • Prepare and assemble food items according to established recipes and quality standards
  • Handle cash transactions, process payments, and give correct change using basic math skills
  • Upsell menu items to enhance customer satisfaction and increase sales opportunities
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the counter area, utensils, and equipment in compliance with food safety regulations
  • Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure prompt service
  • Restock supplies as needed and assist with food preparation tasks in the kitchen when required
  • Ensure all food handling procedures follow health department guidelines and safety protocols

Skills

  • Proven experience in food service, cashiering, or restaurant environments is a plus
  • Familiarity with POS systems such as Micros POS and cash handling procedures
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally
  • Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling techniques
  • Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently during peak hours
  • Basic math skills for accurate cash handling and transaction processing
  • Ability to work quickly while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with food preparation, serving, and upselling menu items is desirable
  • Kitchen experience or background in the food industry will be advantageous
