We're opening a brand-new Laurier Optical in Carleton Place and we're hiring coach-able, customer-first people who want more than "just a retail job."

What You'll Do

1) Customer Experience & Sales (Front of House)

  • Greet customers, ask the right questions, and guide them to the best solution
  • Help customers choose frames and feel confident in their purchase
  • Present lens options, add-ons, and second pairs in a helpful (not pushy) way
  • Handle payments accurately and support smooth pickup experiences
  • Ask for Google reviews the right way and help build our local reputation

2) Clinic Support (Training Provided)

  • Book and confirm appointments; manage the daily schedule
  • Support pre-testing and basic clinic flow (we train you)
  • Maintain accurate records and support recalls and follow-ups
  • Create a calm, organized experience for patients

3) Store Operations

  • Keep the store clean, stocked, and customer-ready
  • Help with merchandising, pricing, receiving, and restocking
  • Support basic admin tasks and team coordination

Training & Growth Path (what you get)

You'll be trained on:

  • Optical basics (frames, lenses, coatings, adjustments support)
  • Clinic workflow + patient experience standards
  • Sales skills (how to recommend confidently, handle objections, close professionally)
  • How to track simple KPIs (conversion, average sale, reviews, appointment flow)

Growth opportunities (based on performance):

  • Senior Sales Associate / Keyholder
  • Clinic Lead (appointment + clinic flow owner)
  • Sales Team Lead (training new hires, running shift huddles)
  • Support path toward opticianry exposure (for those interested long-term)

What We're Looking For

  • Strong communication and a warm, confident personality
  • Comfortable speaking to customers and recommending products
  • Reliable, punctual, and coachable (you want feedback and you apply it)
  • Experience in retail sales, hospitality, cosmetics, apparel, or clinic settings is an asset
  • Optical experience is a plus—but not required (we train the right person)

Schedule

  • Day, evening, and weekend availability (rotating schedule)
  • More hours available as the store ramps up

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $19.00-$24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
